Register as a stem cell donor
Register as a stem cell donor
Are you 18 years or older, healthy, and willing to give someone a second chance at life? By joining the stem cell donor registry, you could provide seriously ill patients with their last and most vital hope of survival.
Once registered, your details will be anonymized and securely added to the global database of potential stem cell donors. If you are identified as the best-matching donor, you could make a life-saving difference for someone in need.
Donating stem cells is a small act that has a huge impact. Each registration helps increase the chances of finding the right match for every patient in need.
Register today and encourage your friends and family to do the same!
Donor Registries by Country
Stem cell donor registries are organized on a national basis and connected worldwide through the WMDA (World Marrow Donor Association) network.
The Netherlands
If you are a Dutch citizen or if you will be living in the Netherlands for at least one more year, you can register via Matchis, The Dutch Center for Stem Cell Donors.
You can read more about Matchis by clicking on the logo.
A step-by-step guidance is included below.
United States of America
U.S. citizens can register through NMDP (formerly Be The Match & National Marrow Donor Program)
You can read more about NMDP by clicking on the logo.
Other Countries
If you want to join the registry and you’re not living in the Netherlands or the USA, we recommend checking which organization manages the registry in your country of residence.
You can find your local registry at ‘Find your registry | WMDA’
Registering in the Netherlands via Matchis: Step-by-Step Guidance
REGISTER
Complete the online registration form via Matchis.nl.
Please mention the event code TXMILLER when registering.
SWAB
You’ll receive a home test kit with three buccal swabs. Simply swab the inside of your cheek and send the samples back in the included envelope. The laboratory will analyze your samples, and your anonymized results will be securely added to the global donor database.
MATCH?
If you are identified as the best possible match for a patient, Matchis will contact you to confirm whether you are still willing and able to donate. If you are, you will undergo additional medical screening. Are you the match? Then Matchis will guide you through every step of the donation process, from preparation to aftercare.
Donating stem cells is a small gesture, but when you are selected as a donor, your donation may save a life!
