TxMiller Foundation presents check to Matchis and WMDA

Back in December 2023, when TxMiller Foundation founders Wietse Mulder and Erik Rozemuller received a generous farewell gift from GenDx, they decided immediately to allocate the donation to the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA), Dutch Center for Stem Cell Donors (Stichting Matchis) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). 

In the beginning of May, the NMDP received their check from TxMiller, in person, during the annual NMDP Gala in New York City.

This week, TxMiller traveled to Leiden, The Netherlands, to personally hand out:
a €100.000,- check to the Matchis Foundation (Stichting Matchis), symbolizing a 5-year commitment of €20.000 per year
a € 10.000,- check to the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA)

It was a pleasure to meet with Bert Elbertse (Matchis), Jaap Dijkman (Matchis), Lydia Foeken-van Goozen (WMDA) and Martine Schuit (WMDA) to learn more about the great work they do, but also about current trends and challenges in finding the best match for every patient in need of a potentially life-saving stem cell transplant.

We look forward to our pleasant collaboration with both WMDA and Matchis, to enhance transplant patients’ survival chances and quality of life.

In September, the month of the World Marrow Donor Day (WMDA), TxMiller joins forces with Matchis, NMDP, GenDx and local partners in Utrecht to motivate as many young, fit people as possible to join the stem cell donor registry.

The Matchis Foundation (Dutch Center for Stem Cell Donors) ensures that patients with leukemia and other severe blood diseases who need to undergo a stem cell transplant receive the most suitable donor, as quickly as possible. Matchis focuses on building, educating and maintaining the stem cell donor database in the Netherlands. In addition, they are responsible for importing and issuing stem cell products donated by donors registered with Matchis.
